AT&T to sell Samsung Rugby 2

AT&T plans to sell the Samsung Rugby 2, a rugged push-to-talk clamshell made to stand up to the harshest of elements, starting on June 6 for $130 with a two-year contract.

The Atlanta, Ga.-based carrier said the Rugby 2 is designed to military standards to withstand dust, shock, vibration, rain, humidity, solar radiation, altitude and temperature extremes.

The handset also has an external speaker with improved noise suppression to ensure users are able to be heard in loud public places, integrates global-positioning service for turn-by-turn directions, automatic rerouting and real-time traffic alerts and offers high-speed HSPDA for fast Internet access.

“Following the success of the Rugby, the Rugby 2 is a rugged and durable device with an enhanced external speaker and new aGPS applications,” said Omar Khan, Samsung’s chief strategy officer. “This device allows a workforce to stay in touch with the push of a button and its design can withstand everyday wear and tear.”

Additional features include a 2.0-megapixel camera, music player, and global-roaming technology to make calls in more than 220 countries.

Yesterday Apple came our wiht Ibook new revolution and yet new competitor for amazon.com kindle. and this is only beggining of the year.

Verizon Wireless promised they will have Iphone for sale with it’s network but when? i gave up waiting for them and i bought my iphone from ATT.

Today i found out that virgine mobile is offereing Iphone too. This was news to me but its` cool. I think Iphone is so cool every network should have it.

STEP 1: Submit Your Order for a New Phone and Plan

Be sure to click on the box that says “Yes! Switch my old cell phone number to my new phone and plan.” You will be asked to provide your current wireless phone number and account number. This information can be found on your old wireless bill, or by dialing 611 from your wireless phone.

Your order will be submitted for approval by your new carrier. After it is approved, we will schedule your phone to be activated and your number to be ported. In the rare event that your number cannot be ported, we will contact you with alternative options for activating service. You should receive your new phone prior to port completion so that service is not disrupted with your old service provider.

STEP 2: Receive Your New Phone

Once you receive your phone, your phone number should be ported within 24 hours. You will be provided with information to check the real-time status of your scheduled port request.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT CANCEL SERVICE WITH YOUR CURRENT PROVIDER UNTIL AFTER YOUR WIRELESS PHONE NUMBER HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULLY PORTED TO YOUR NEW PROVIDER. IF YOU CANCEL SERVICE WITH YOUR CURRENT PROVIDER BEFORE SUCCESSFULLY PORTING YOUR PHONE NUMBER TO YOUR NEW PROVIDER, YOU MAY LOSE YOUR PHONE NUMBER.

STEP 3: Cancel Your Old Account

After your phone number is ported, you will no longer be able to use your phone number with your old service provider. You must contact your old service provider to cancel service. You will be responsible for payment of all outstanding charges including any fees that may be assessed by your old service provider for canceling service.

New Google Android Phone: MyTouch 3G

Google has it`s new phone on the market. The latest is T-Mobile’s next Google Android device, called the MyTouch 3G.

T-Mobile will announce the new smartphone Monday. It is the second smartphone the carrier has introduced that uses Google’s open-source mobile operating system, Android. T-Mobile introduced the world’s first Google Android phone, called the G1, last fall. And so far the company claims it has sold over 1 million devices.

The MyTouch 3G is manufactured by HTC and is essentially the same hardware design as the Google Ion, which is also known as the HTC Magic. The device was introduced at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February and is now being sold by Vodafone in various markets around the world.
